New Trailer Sales

Full Time Position

Description:
H.A. Dehart & Son is now hiring for a New Trailer Sales Representative for the Eastern Shore of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia territory (Delmarva Peninsula). The New Semi-Trailers Sales Representative will be directly accountable for a targeted sales territory with the responsibility to develop, service and maintain new and existing accounts for the company’s existing product line of new and used trailers.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have experience in selling heavy duty transportation equipment for this dynamic performance driven role.

The position facilitates and promotes all facets of sales including the sale of new and used trailers. Coordinate all items associated with the selling process to ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible for a geographic area of responsibility and create a strategic plan to identify all potential customers. Effectively organize territory.
  • Develop sales initiatives (goals). Review and update initiatives with sales management on a reoccurring basis.
  • Identify and profile target accounts and execute a plan to develop them as a customer/partner
  • Develop relationships with vendors for lead recognition.
  • Research all customers as to their buying habits, their specific needs, pricing criterion and potential forecast.
  • Identify & maintain core accounts and reinforce their purchase decisions by continually offering them solutions to their changing environment.
  • Communicate with fellow employees to ensure customer satisfaction on all trailer deliveries.
  • Provide management with the actual forecast for the upcoming year.

Job Tasks:

  • Utilize existing prospecting tools to develop new customers. This would include customer visits, telemarketing, computer-based marketing tools, and email.
  • Follow order entry procedures.
  • Prepare customer quotes and pricing in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with internal parts and service staff to develop the support for the customer base.
  • Solicit potential financing opportunities to have an edge over competition.
  • Keep up with new product advancements, specifications and industry changes.
  • Performing factory visits with customers, as necessary.
  • Navigate the discount process for new opportunities
  • Send information and requests from customers to the corporate sales team so they can generate specifications and apply proper discounts.
  • Confirm with customer that all specifications are correct before an order is placed.
  • Present formal quotations to customers
  • Manage and track all orders. This includes communication and coordination with shippers, finance companies, shop foreman, end user, etc…
  • Collect and verify funds before release of any trailers.
  • Manage and track inventory
  • Attend and participate in local and national trade shows

Qualifications:

  • Previous Trailer Experience or Truck Related Experience
  • 2-3 Years of Sales Experience
  • College Degree.
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Proficient communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, E-mail

Sales – Truck Equipment

Full Time Exempt Position

Description:
Serves contractors and municipalities by selling various types of truck and municipal equipment including, dump bodies, plows, spreaders, utility bodies, truck mounted cranes, trailers, refuse equipment, street sweepers, jetting and vacuum equipment along with road maintenance equipment. Achieves maximum sales growth and account penetration within Sussex, Passaic, Bergen, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset Counties. The successful candidate will effectively sell the company’s products and/or related services and secure new business accounts/customers.

Duties:

  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business.
  • Makes in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services.
  • Supplies management with weekly call reports showing customer and summarizing visit/discussion.
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions.

Education/Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial vehicle sales preferred. Industry experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite Applications and contact management software.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to secure a CDL.
  • Ability to travel in Sussex, Passaic, Bergen, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset Counties.

General Laborer/Helper

The General Laborer/Helper will wash buses, clean the shop, move parts and clean the grounds.

General Laborer/Helper must:

  • Be able to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Have a valid driver’s license

Experience with car detailing is a plus.

Truck Body Upfitter/Installer

The Experienced Truck Body Upfitter/Installer will install and repair all makes and models of heavy truck equipment including, but not limited to, dump & utility bodies, plows, spreaders, brine systems, cranes, trailers and refuse equipment.

Selected individual must:

  • have experience in working with medium to heavy equipment and diesel vehicles
  • have working knowledge of shop equipment, wiring and hydraulics
  • make sure work tickets are completed with all information before handing off to service advisor
  • have your own tools
  • have a valid driver’s license

Fabrication and welding experience is a plus.

Class C Bus Mechanic (New Brunswick, NJ)

The Class C Bus Mechanic will do basic maintenance tasks on all makes and models of buses at our New Brunswick, NJ location.

Selected individual must:

  • Have basic hand tools
  • Be able to work with minimal direction
  • Make sure work tickets are completed with all pertinent information before handing off to service advisor

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Class C Bus Mechanic (Thorofare, NJ)

The Class C Bus Mechanic will do basic maintenance tasks on all makes and models of buses at our Thorofare, NJ location. Selected individual must:

  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have basic hand tools
  • Be able to work with minimal direction
  • Make sure work tickets are completed with all pertinent information before handing off to service advisor

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Driver

The Driver will drive large truck equipment such as street sweepers, dump bodies, utility bodies, catch basin cleaners and sewer trucks to customers, shows, etc…

The Driver must:

  • Be able to work flexible hours
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have a CDL Class B license, with air brakes and tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain one.

For the right candidate, H.A. DeHart & Son will pay for the CDL Class B license with air brakes and tanker endorsement.

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, this position may start earlier in the morning or finish later in the evening.
